Description: Psilocybe mexicana is a small, tan psychedelic mushroom historically used by indigenous Mesoamerican cultures, including the Aztecs, who called it teonanácatl (“flesh of the gods”). It was the species from which Dr. Albert Hofmann first isolated psilocybin and psilocin, marking a pivotal moment in the modern study of psychedelics.
